“Thanksgiving Feast” a 3 day cooking class will teach young chefs how to cook and prepare an entire Thanksgiving meal, in addition to teaching the joy of service, as the entire meal will be donated and served.
10 young chefs, ages 7-14, will be cooking up a feast to remember the 3 days leading up to Thanksgiving. Meeting each day from 9am-1pm at 825 Carlsbad Village Drive, they’ll prepare from scratch a traditional Thanksgiving meal: cranberry sauce, cornbread, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and of course, Turkey.
The class is created and led by Amanda from The Good Food Factory. “Thanksgiving is a favorite meal of mine to teach,” says Amanda. “Each year we learn the traditions, history and food of the first Thanksgiving. In the past we’ve made enough food to feed 20 or more people and I always thought it would be great if we could also practice the tradition of giving and instilling in youth the joy of service.”
Ages 7-14 with previous cooking experience.
Class is limited to 10 chefs

GRANOLA BAR / MUFFIN MADNESS
Ever create something so delicious that everyone tells you “Hey! You should sell these!”? In this camp, student chefs will experiment, invent, package and sell their very own brand of granola bar or energy-packed healthy muffins. From concept to creation, they will learn how to make a delicious and marketable product. Camp will culminate in launching of our best granola bar or muffins being sold at our very own bakery shop!
FOOD TRUCK TACO TRUCK
Everyone LOVES a food truck, so let’s make our own! In this super awesome, ridiculously fun camp, we’ll create our very own taco truck! Salsas! Agua Frescas! Street Tacos! Plus, we’ll paint and name our own truck, create uniforms and slogans and open it to friends and family on the last day!
GARDEN TO TABLE RESTAURANT LAUNCH
In this introductory cooking camp, student chefs will learn the basics of California Cuisine: locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, prepared fresh. We will harvest ingredients from our organic garden, while learning how to chop, mix and measure as well as launch, staff, plan and host our own restaurant. Camp will culminate in an afternoon service, open to friends and family, at our very own “Farm to Table” restaurant.
